Shepherd Elder

Occupation:  Program Management Advisor for Evernorth, Inc

Hometown: Born and raised in Waukesha, WI

What year did you begin attending GBCC and what brought you here:  I was invited to GBCC many times since moving to Green Bay in 2013. I visited a few times through the years and started volunteering with the Circles program in 2018 but didn’t start attending regularly until 2021.

When did you accept Christ.  Briefly describe the circumstances: I have been a Christian since I was a young child, raised in a Lutheran church and confirmed my faith when I was 13 years old. But I believe the personal relationship really started in August 2022 when I decided to be baptized here at GBCC.  When I came up out of the water, I was a new creation.

What energizes you about serving as a Shepherd Elder:  I have been really excited about Alpha and Navigate since I was first involved with those studies.  It’s really difficult to come to church as a single person especially with no young children. I’ve struggled to find a place here at GBCC. When I took the Alpha class, I really found family here. People who brought me in and welcomed me and continue to pour into me. And Navigate has taught me so much more about how God created me and why I am wired the way I am. It has really helped me understand a lot about my gift. It’s a class that I recommend to everyone and I’m so happy to be involved in the class every year. I love watching people grow in their gift and see how God has made every soul unique and special.

Free-time activities:  I really enjoy being part of GBCCriders and Navigate. I volunteer and lead at least one Missions trip every year.  This year, I will do three! I’m currently working full time, but when I retire, I hope to do more local and mission work with organizations in the US.  I also love singing and fishing.
