december giving message from troy!

As we enter this Advent season, we’re reminded that generosity is at the very heart of God’s story. Scripture teaches that every good gift comes from Him, and that our giving is both an act of worship and a reflection of His own generosity toward us. As we approach the end of the year, we invite you to prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to give—joyfully, sacrificially, and with a vision for what He can do through a people committed to His Kingdom. Every December, your generous giving helps us continue sharing the hope of Jesus in meaningful, practical ways throughout the rest of the year.

As we look back, we’re deeply grateful for all that was accomplished through last year’s December giving: Supporting Missionary Partners in Vietnam and Wycliffe Bible Translation, Paid off Line of Credit, Installed new gym carpet, Completed another large section of much needed roof repairs, Repaired additional roof top HVAC units.

Each step made possible by your faithfulness. Looking ahead, we believe God is calling us to new opportunities to serve, disciple, and reach our community, including:Local Refuge Mission Support, Hitting our monthly budget for December, Catching up on the Giving Gap since September, Completing the first of the final 2 sections of roof repairs, Beginning the funding of the final section of roof repairs, Funding the architectural design of a Miracle League Field.

For more information and details regarding this special year-end giving push, watch this video from Ps. Troy.

Thank you for partnering with us in this mission. Your generosity not only fuels ministry; it changes lives, strengthens the church, and advances the Gospel in ways that reach far beyond a single season.

THIS SUNDAY'S MESSAGE

〰️

THIS SUNDAY'S MESSAGE 〰️

This Sunday we will be starting a series called “Why’d You Show Up Late to the Movie? The Story of a Generous God” — Most people think the Christmas story begins with a baby in a manger, but they’ve walked in during the climax of a film that’s been playing for millennia. This four-week series rewinds to show God’s generous character woven throughout the entire biblical narrative—from His covenant faithfulness to Israel, through Christ’s self-giving on the cross, to the radical kingdom generosity Jesus taught, and finally to how His generosity continues to write our story today. Like any great movie, you can’t understand the meaning of one scene without knowing the plot that led there. Join us this Sunday, bring your bibles, invite a friend for services at 8am or 10am. No hot breakfast this Sunday, we will be serving a continental breakfast instead.

Veteran’s 1st Update - Breakfast with Gail & Kim Nohr

Join us for breakfast in the GBCC Office on Sunday, December 7 at 9am as we hear from longtime attenders Gail and Kim Nohr about their leadership with Veteran’s 1st, a local effort providing transitional housing and support for veterans in need. We’ll also show a short video about the project—including one beautifully produced by our own GBCC attender David Ames, of Ames Productions and Khrome Agency. With the first homes potentially opening by the end of the year, volunteers are needed now to help welcome and support veterans stepping into this housing program. Grab your breakfast from the lobby, meet Gail and Kim, and learn how you can be part of this mission of hope and restoration.

warming in the heart

Green Bay Community Church was grateful to serve as the Sunday host for Warming in The Heart (WiTH), a multi-church ecumenical collaboration led by and held at Samaritan’s Heart Mission Church. On November 23, we welcomed 77 guests for an afternoon of warmth, community, and simple activities like movies, football, coloring, crochet, and a lively Bingo table. With 21 volunteers from GBCC, SHMC, and the Quad Parishes, guests experienced true ministry of presence—and even more volunteers next time would help us sit with guests, share hobbies, or support hands-on activities (crochet, lettering/calligraphy, coloring, singing, or anything you enjoy sharing). GBCC is hosting again on February 8, and we are still praying for a new Ministry Lead to help coordinate volunteers and be the point person for this beautiful hospitality ministry. Other ways to help include donating $5 gift cards, individual bus passes, or new warm gloves, hats, or mittens. For Feb. 8, salty, sweet, or fresh snacks (for 30, 60, or 100 guests) are also a huge blessing—GBCC provides the coffee!

Want a glimpse of what Warming in the Heart feels like? Watch the video here! Sign up to volunteer on Feb 8 or to provide gift cards, winter gear, or snacks. Or reach out to CherylW@gbcc.me with questions!

GENEROSITY REPORT

〰️

GENEROSITY REPORT 〰️

Giving regularly is a way to express our love and trust in God's provision. It's not about the amount given, but the intention and heart behind it. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, "Let each one give thoughtfully and with purpose just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift."

As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Currently, we are on average approximately $1,200 short of our weekly budget goal. Each week we will inform you of where we stand.

For the week of November 20th • Total giving was $33,307—about $5,100 below our target.

Thank you for your commitment and passion for our church! Your prayers and contributions truly make a difference in advancing our mission and serving our community!
