Graphic Designer
As a member of the Communications team, Sam design various graphics, including series art, slides, handouts, banners, signage, and more. His work also involves finding new fonts, troubleshooting the printer, and creating countless QR codes.
“The friendships with my coworkers make my job enjoyable, providing a fun, loving, and supportive environment. I particularly enjoy larger branding projects, such as the recent GBCC brand refresh, the ongoing Children’s Ministry rebrand, and our Easter and Christmas programming. These projects allow me to collaborate, share ideas, and take a strategic, holistic approach to creating cohesive looks across multiple touchpoints.”
Sam grew up in Abrams, WI, was homeschooled, and later attended St. Norbert College, where he majored in Art with a focus on Graphic Design, graduating in 2019.
He first attended GBCC around age 6 with my family and grew up participating in Sunday School, VBS, and the youth program known as "Expressway" back then. He started as a volunteer/intern at GBCC in 2014, which led to a staff position. After college, Sam left for a time and then rejoined the team in 2022.
“Outside of work, I’m passionate about music—playing guitar, browsing record stores, and attending live concerts. I also love being out in nature—hiking, biking, or simply sitting in a park and birdwatching. My bucket list includes hugging a Sequoia tree at Sequoia National Park, visiting Monet’s gardens in France, and seeing the MJ Lenderman band live in concert.”
A life lesson Sam has learned is to take care of your emotional health, be kind and gentle towards yourself, and rest when needed. It’s hard to love others if you’re not loving yourself first.
