Samantha van dyke
Facilities Lead
Sam helps maintain the building and grounds and supports ministries and groups that use space at GBCC. She enjoys working with staff and volunteers "as we all grow together in our faith."
Sam grew up in Clintonville and earned a degree in psychology at Carroll College in Waukesha, where she played volleyball, basketball and softball.
Sam said she always believed in God but it wasn't until 2001 that she entered into a personal relationship with Him. "I think my relationship with Him became more solid a few years after I became a regular attendee at GBCC in 2012," she said.
Sam joined the GBCC staff in 2020 just as the world was closing down from the pandemic. She married Paul in 2021 and said she is "a bonus mom to two amazing teenage boys."
Away from work Sam likes to do almost anything outdoors, with hiking and camping at the top of the list followed by hunting. She wants to travel around the United States to national parks and historic sites.
When asked to share a life lesson, Sam said: "When life gets hard, and it will, don't isolate yourself. Be open and share. Being vulnerable and real with yourself and others can be a superpower."
