Sheri oversees GBCC's pastoral care team, which offers spiritual guidance, hospital and home visits, prayer, assistance for funerals, weddings and baptisms, and follow-up with new attendees. Sheri also works with a team of volunteers to run the Alpha course and provides support to women’s and care groups.

Sheri joined the GBCC staff in 2011 and said she loves "seeing transformation in someone’s life, specifically around understanding who they are, who God is, and how their story plays a unique role in bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth."

Growing up in Waupaca, Sheri chose to follow Christ at a young age. "But looking back, I think that was more about adopting a set of beliefs in order to belong," Sheri said. "Following and getting to know Jesus has been a process over many years and I'm still journeying."

She married Pete in 1992 and started attending GBCC in 1993. They have three grown children (Jordyn, Logan and Olivia), a daughter-in-law Natalee and son-in-law Matthew, in addition to three grand puppies.

Sheri loves reading, cooking, baking, spending time with family, traveling, sitting on the beach and quilting. Her bucket list includes trips to Ireland, Italy and Croatia, and concert tickets to U2 at the Sphere in Las Vegas and The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks. 

Sheri's life lesson: "I always have something to learn from others, no matter who they are."
