Emily has been serving in Children’s Ministry at GBCC for just over a year, currently leading our Pre-K and Kindergarten teams. She was drawn to kids' ministry by the way children can grasp the gospel in beautifully simple yet deeply thoughtful ways. One of her favorite moments is watching kids light up with excitement as they begin to understand and retell Bible stories.

Her heart is to create a space where every child knows they are loved, valued, and safe to ask questions, build meaningful relationships, and grow in their faith alongside others. Emily became a Christian at 17, realizing the world couldn’t offer what only Christ could. She joined GBCC soon after and began volunteering with Sawa Sawa, where she developed deep relationships and launched Come to Jesus Children’s Ministry, along with various kids and teen Bible studies.

Her favorite Bible verse is Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” It reminds her that even when things feel uncertain, God is always at work. Outside of church, Emily loves camping—especially in the spring and fall—and counts Lifest as her favorite three days of the year.
