Wednesdays

the forge

What is it?

The Forge is the Wednesday-night rhythm where Green Bay Community Church forms disciples who lead — not as a title a few people hold, but as the ordinary calling of every follower of Jesus across every sphere of life. Over a monthly cycle we move through four areas of discipleship: the home, our relationships, our own souls before God, and the church itself.

The conviction underneath is simple: you cannot lead anyone further than you have been formed, so we shape the whole person for the whole of life.

Leadership begins where it's hardest to fake: under your own roof. This week equips parents, spouses, and singles to take spiritual responsibility for their household — to disciple their children, shape the rhythms of their home, and make faith the native language of family life.

Deuteronomy 6:6–7

❋ Week 1: Disciple Your Household

Every disciple is meant to make disciples. This week forms people to shepherd those around them — in small groups, in the neighborhood, across the kitchen table — moving them from passive attenders to those who intentionally invest in someone else's walk with Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:2, Matthew 28:19–20

❋ Week 2: Disciple Others

The whole family returns for this one, because learning to lead your own spiritual life is the headwaters of everything else. We learn the interior work of worship, prayer, Scripture, and the practices that keep a soul tethered to God — the self-leadership that no one else can do for you, and that most have never been told is leadership at all.

1 Timothy 4:7–8, Mark 12:30

❋ Week 3: Disciple Your Own Soul

The church is not a building we attend but a body we steward. This week shapes people to understand how the church functions, to serve from their gifting, and to carry the leadership culture and mission of GBCC as their own.

Ephesians 4:11–16, 1 Peter 4:10

❋ Week 4: Disciple the Church
