July neighborhood gathering
Psalm 8 holds a stunning paradox: the God whose glory fills the skies chooses to work through the humble, the small, and the overlooked. David's question — "What is mankind that you are mindful of them?" — is answered not with dismissal but with a crown. When we see God rightly, we see ourselves rightly.
Conversation Questions
When did you last experience genuine wonder at God's greatness, and what tends to crowd that out for you?
Human dignity is a gift of grace, not an achievement. What would change about how you carry your failures or receive love if you actually believed that?
God chooses the weak, the humble, and the overlooked as instruments of his power. Where might he be doing something through your smallness that you've been dismissing?
what are neighborhood gatherings
This Summer, we are doing something different. Instead of gathering under one roof, we’re asking our GBCC church family to be the church in their neighborhoods — hosting or attending a Neighborhood Gathering right where they live.
We’ll provide a teaching video to anchor your time together, but the real win is the conversations, connections, and relationships that happen with the people next door. This is not a day off — it’s one of the most strategic things we can do to become the kind of church that actually changes the city we love!
