Tracy Laine
Office Director & Assistant to Lead Pastor
As the Office Director (think Traffic Director), Tracy handles the flow of logistics, from office supplies to coordinating projects, attending and taking minutes at meetings, and assisting Troy. Part of the GBCC staff since 2003, she loves that her job took her previous office experience and natural organizational skills and combined them with relational skills. She says people skills are something she’s developed by watching great examples among other staff.
Tracy grew up in Howard, and she married Gherud in 1991. They went through a lot in the early years of their marriage—Tracy lost her father in 1992 and was, herself, diagnosed with bone cancer the following year. Facing serious illness (and losing much of the bone in one leg) sparked a lot of questions about spiritual things for Tracy, and so when she attended GBCC’s Dessert Theatre in 1999, she was open to the gospel. She welcomed Geri Czarnecki as a mentor and committed her life to Christ soon after. Tracy is an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction, naming The Hawk and the Dove as a favorite because of the vivid, inspirational characters. Tracy loves dogs and names coffee as a hobby in its own right. She and her husband have one dog, Max. She’s also a certified dog trainer and would love to use that expertise and passion by fostering rescue dogs someday.
