HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT!
Families are invited to join us on Friday, November 6, from 6-8pm in the Cave for a showing of DAVID! We’ll provide the popcorn and drinks, so all you need to do is grab your favorite blanket or camp chair and get comfortable. This is a free event, so bring the whole family, and feel free to invite friends and neighbors too. We’d love to see you there! Register here to let us know you’re coming!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: PLEASE UPDATE YOUR GIVING!
We’re excited to share that GBCC is moving our database service from Elexio to Planning Center Online! This year-long transition is almost complete, but we need your help with the final step:
If you give online—especially if you have a recurring gift—we ask that you update your giving as soon as possible. If you have a recurring gift set up, please make the switch before your next scheduled gift so there is no interruption in your giving.
Please visit gbcc.me/give and look for the new Online Giving/Recurring Giving link, along with a helpful video that walks you through the steps to set up your giving.
If you currently have a recurring gift set up through Elexio, please be sure to cancel it after setting up your new recurring gift through Planning Center. If you need help, see John at a kiosk on a Sunday or email finance@gbcc.me and we will get it canceled for you! This will help ensure your giving continues without interruption and prevent duplicate gifts! Thank you for helping us make this transition smooth!
THE FORGE: DISCIPLE THE CHURCH
Join us this Wednesday, October 28 at The Forge: Disciple the Church! The church is not a building we attend but a body we steward. This week is designed to shape you to understand how the church functions, to serve from your gifting, and to carry the leadership culture and mission of GBCC as your own. Dinner in the gym at 5pm, training begins in the Training Center at 6pm! We hope to see you there!

DATABASE SWITCH UPDATE!
As we’ve mentioned, we’re switching our database from Elexio to Planning Center! This exciting change is a process, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to make the transition as smooth as possible. During this transition, you may receive more emails from us than normal. Don’t worry—this is just part of the process, and the extra emails will slow down once we’re fully switched over. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this exciting change!
YOUNG ADULTS OCTOBER EVENT THIS SUNDAY!
If you are a young adult in the area, join us this Sunday for Fall Fest! We will be meeting at GBCC in the training center and we will have games, food, a bonfire & connection! Invite a friend and come join us, we will also have the Packer game on! We hope to see you there.
Sunday, October 25 | 4pm-6pm
GRIEF SHARE: SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS
After the death of a loved one, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be hard. A special one-night class called "Surviving the Holidays" is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 in room 206B to offer support. Topics include dealing with your emotions, handling social events, and looking forward. Workbooks are $5, available that evening. Participants can sign up online by clicking here.
RESTORE RETREATS LODGE UPDATE
Join us in praying for the next location of Restore retreats! To date Restore has completed 58 Restore retreats at various locations since Oct 2020. No location has offered the ideal set up for meaningful outdoor/indoor get-away spaces, on-site activities, gathering space for groups of 8-25 ppl, adequate bathrooms and accessible lodging, or quiet dinner table conversations. We are thankful for the amazing memories to date, but feel it’s time to move toward building a custom Restore Lodge that will serve retreats and other key small gatherings of our church. There is a 38 acre plot of land available for Restore to purchase, with a blank slate of opportunity to build and shape the property around what we value most on retreats - Rest, Relationships & Restoration. Would you simply pray with us about taking this next step?
CELEBRATE NEW LIFE THIS WEEKEND!
We’re excited to celebrate baptisms next Sunday, October 25, during both services!
Baptism is a beautiful picture of the gospel—declaring that we have placed our trust in Jesus and have identified with His death, burial, and resurrection. Going under the water represents the death of our old life, and coming out of the water represents our new life in Christ (Romans 6:1–14; Matthew 28:18–20).
Baptism doesn’t save us—it declares the salvation we have received through Christ. It’s a public way of saying, “My life belongs to Jesus.”
If you’re considering baptism, we’d be honored to celebrate this important step with you! Learn more here.
DISCIPLE 1ST + 2ND GRADERS!!
Community Kids is looking for individuals who want to influence kids for the kingdom of God! Give one Sunday a month to equip children with biblical truth, model simple prayers, and encourage them in faith. Curious what this could look like for you? Reach us at childrens@gbcc.me or complete the info here.
Join us on Wednesday, November 4th at 6pm as apart of “The Forge” for a night of worship! Starting at 6pm in the Chapel ~ bring the whole family and come worship the Lord with us! Listen to the setlist below to get familiar with the songs!
WEEKLY GENEROSITY REPORT
At GBCC, we see giving not just as a responsibility but as a joyful opportunity to demonstrate our love and obedience to God. In Hebrews, giving is listed as an act of worship to the Lord. In chapter 13 verses 15-16 it says, "Through Him, therefore, let us at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name. Do not neglect to do good, to contribute [to the needy of the church as an expression of fellowship], for such sacrifices are always pleasing to God."
As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Currently, we are on average approximately $28,000 short of our weekly budget goal. Each week we will inform you of where we stand.
For the week ending October 14 • Total giving was $22,115—about $18,270 below our target. As previously mentioned, GBCC is excited to move our database from Elexio to Planning Center. There are approximately 130 people who have not transferred their giving from Elexio to Planning Center. If you need assistance transferring your recurring gift, please reach out to finance@gbcc.me.
Additionally, in the coming months, we are praying that God will raise up new regular givers to join us in supporting the important work of the Kingdom here in Green Bay. Your contributions truly make a difference in advancing our mission and serving our community! The evangelist Billy Graham once said, “God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with.” Would you join us in praying for hands and hearts to be opened to generosity within our community?
Thank you for your commitment and passion for our church!
