HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: HOLIDAY STORE - SPREAD JOY!
We are partnering with The Giving Tree again this year to bless families and hundreds of children in the Howard-Suamico School District through The Holiday Store. What you can do: Pick up a shopping list and bag from the church lobby THIS Sunday, and bring back new, unwrapped items by Tuesday, December 8. Prefer to shop online? Use the Amazon Wish List linked on our website HERE and your purchase will go directly toward the Holiday Store. You can also give monetary gifts or gift cards (Target, Fleet Farm, Walmart, Meijer) are also welcomed — drop these off at the church front office by December 8 with “The Giving Tree” noted. For more information and the full details visit here. Let’s join together to make this season bright for our community!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: PLEASE UPDATE YOUR GIVING!
We’re excited to share that GBCC is moving our database service from Elexio to Planning Center Online! This year-long transition is almost complete, but we need your help with the final step:
If you give online—especially if you have a recurring gift—we ask that you update your giving as soon as possible. If you have a recurring gift set up, please make the switch before your next scheduled gift so there is no interruption in your giving.
Please visit gbcc.me/give and look for the new Online Giving/Recurring Giving link, along with a helpful video that walks you through the steps to set up your giving.
If you currently have a recurring gift set up through Elexio, please be sure to cancel it after setting up your new recurring gift through Planning Center. If you need help, see John at a kiosk on a Sunday or email finance@gbcc.me and we will get it canceled for you! This will help ensure your giving continues without interruption and prevent duplicate gifts! Thank you for helping us make this transition smooth!
SUNDAYS MESSAGE
We are in a new six week series titled “Disciples”! A disciple is a person who has surrendered their life to Jesus and is learning from him, through the Bible, how to live in his kingdom on earth. The five attributes we will cover trace one journey, lived out right where we are: surrender to Jesus, honest living with others, a teachable spirit, love for the people around us, and a life that passes on what we’ve received. Bring your Bible and join us this Sunday at 8am + 10am!

DATABASE SWITCH UPDATE!
As we’ve mentioned, we’re switching our database from Elexio to Planning Center! This exciting change is a process, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to make the transition as smooth as possible. During this transition, you may receive more emails from us than normal. Don’t worry—this is just part of the process, and the extra emails will slow down once we’re fully switched over. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this exciting change!
PRAYER REQUEST FOR REFUGEES & FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY
Our friends at Sawa Sawa Collective have shared that legally present refugee families in Oshkosh are facing challenging circumstances related to immigration enforcement. They are working with other agencies to determine how best to support those affected. Please pray for the individuals and families involved, and for wisdom, compassion, and guidance for those working to meet their needs.
CAREGIVERS OF AGING PARENTS + SPOUSES
Caring for a loved one can be both meaningful and hard. Come sit with others who understand — no pressure, just conversation and encouragement. We will be meeting the second Sunday of each month from November-December. We meet between service in the gym near the front doors. Find a staff member for guidance if needed!
young adults Friendsgiving event
Young adults! We'd love for you to join us for a Thanksgiving meal on Monday, November 16, from 6-8PM at the Sky Lounge at Titletown Brewing! Come hungry and ready to enjoy good food and good company. Bring a dish to pass and sign up to RSVP and let us know what you're bringing here! Bring a friend, we can't wait to celebrate and give thanks with you!
8AM PRESCHOOL SERVING OPPORTUNITY
Be a part of something greater as you lay the spiritual foundation for the 4-6 years olds of GBCC. Join them in play, read a Bible story, and assist with crafts to reinforce what they've heard! Enjoy this fun age and holy space when you email us below and tell us "I'm IN!"
WEEKLY GENEROSITY REPORT
Giving is the intentional spiritual practice of sharing one's resources, time and talents with others, motivated by love and obedience to God. This practice recognizes that all we have comes from God and serves as an expression of faith and gratitude. It fosters generosity and selflessness, benefiting both the giver and the recipient while reflecting God's heart in caring for others.
As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of October 25: • Total giving was $36,432 - about $10,101 below our target.
As previously mentioned, GBCC is excited to move our database from Elexio to Planning Center. If you need assistance transferring your recurring gift, please reach out to finance@gbcc.me
Would you join us in praying for hearts to be opened to generosity within our community? As the German priest and theologian Martin Luther once said, “I have held many things in my hand, and have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God’s hands that I still possess.” Thank you for your commitment and passion for our church!
