Weekly Newsletter — February 5, 2026
HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: NEW ALL-STARS REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
The N.E.W. All-Stars are heading into our 5th season, and we’re looking for adult volunteers to help make it our best one yet! This non-competitive baseball league serves adults ages 19+ with intellectual and physical disabilities—and our biggest need is player partners who can come alongside athletes, build friendships, and share in the joy of the game. And yes… it is SO fun. Expect high-fives, laughter, big smiles, and moments that will absolutely make your week. No baseball experience needed—just a willingness to show up, encourage, and have a great time. Games are played Monday evenings at Resch Miracle Field. Come be part of a community where everyone wins—on and off the field. Learn more and find player + volunteer registration here.

CELEBRATING SAFE FAMILIES
We’re excited to share that Safe Families, a ministry partner of Green Bay Community Church, has been selected to participate in Give Big Green Bay! This is a joyful opportunity to support families with care, connection, and practical help before challenges become crises. All gifts made February 25 at noon through February 26 at noon will be matched by the Green Bay Packers and other partners—stretching every dollar to bless more families. Learn more and join in at givebiggreenbay.org.
AFRICA PARTNERSHIP UPDATE
We’re excited to share new and growing global partnerships that God is opening through GBCC. This year, we’re partnering with Leadership Farm in Zambia, where a team from GBCC will travel to invest in future leaders by teaching spiritual formation, leadership development, and practical skills. We’re also launching African Internships at GBCC—a 10-week program welcoming 10 students from Africa to intern within our church and alongside local businesses and nonprofits. Host families and internship placements are needed to make this possible. Additionally, through David and Catherine Ames, we continue our partnership in Malawi with Orphans of God Land Josie in collaboration with Support Malawi (formerly AquAid Lifeline). Thank you for praying, giving, and being part of how God is moving locally and globally.
LOVE YOUR CITY IS BACK THIS MONTH!
Love Your City Network is a Together Green Bay–hosted monthly breakfast gathering for community leaders across the non-profit, faith, education, and business sectors who share a heart to see our city flourish. Our city matters—to us, to our families, and to the future—and we believe cities are made better when leaders work together. Each gathering is designed to equip leaders with practical tools and shared language to transform their lives, workplaces, and communities through collaboration. We meet monthly from 7:30–9:00am at Fire & Fir Event Hall near Lambeau Field (789 Armed Forces Drive), with time for breakfast, a collaborative exercise, and teaching. Our next gathering is Thursday, February 19. Get your tickets here!
NAVIGATE ONE DAY GROUP
Navigate is a course designed to help you discover and understand your spiritual gifts through a biblical framework. We’ll explore what spiritual gifts are (and aren’t), offer real-time feedback on your unique gift dynamics, and help you see how God has uniquely designed you to serve. This experience will help you gain clarity on your gift, learn how to use it well, and find meaningful ways to connect and serve within the church. This condensed format is the same content as the 8-week group and is a great option if you can’t commit to an 8-week group due to your schedule. Join us Sunday, February 22 from 11:30am-4:30pm in the Spring at GBCC! Learn more and register here.
WALK IN YOUR GIFT ONE DAY GROUP
Having already discovered your spiritual gift through Navigate, this next step is designed to help you go deeper. Walk in Your Gift is for those who want to better understand their gifting, grow in confidence, and learn how to fully embrace and live it out. Join us Sunday, March 1 from 11:30am-1:30pm at GBCC in the Spring. Cost is $50 with lunch and workbook included! This experience is intentionally designed for those who have completed Navigate and are ready to take their next step in learning to operate their gift. Learn more and register here.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-week class for everyone, no matter what your financial state, in which you learn practical steps to beat debt, take control of your money, build wealth, and give generously. Class members will meet every Wednesday, starting March 4, 6:00-7:30pm, in Room 201A at GBCC. You will watch the lesson together and engage in discussion around what they just learned. To learn more and sign up click here.
WE ARE HIRING
We’re excited to share that GBCC is growing—and we’re hiring! We currently have several open positions and are looking for passionate, organized, and team-minded individuals to join our staff.
Positions available include:

Ministry Coordinator – Supports the Groups Pastor and Care Pastor by managing administrative details related to groups and pastoral care.
If you—or someone you know—might be a great fit, we’d love to connect. Learn more about these roles or apply here.
CONNECT TO COMMUNITY
Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am in the Church Office Area. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.
Join us Sunday, March 1 at 10am — RSVP HERE.
GENEROSITY REPORT
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing generosity and support! Did you know that only 5-10% of active churchgoers in the U.S. regularly tithe? At GBCC, we see giving not just as a responsibility but as a joyful opportunity to demonstrate our love and obedience to God. We truly believe we don’t give to receive; we GET to give! In Acts 2, we see a powerful example of community generosity: “All the believers met together… and shared everything they had… praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people.” This is the spirit we strive to cultivate within our church.
As we work together to fulfill our mission, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of January 29th • Total giving was $38,038—about $400 below our target.
In the coming months, we are praying that God will continue to raise up new regular givers to join us in supporting the important work of the Kingdom here in Green Bay. John Wesley described money as “an excellent gift of God, answering the noblest ends.” Would you join us in praying for hearts to be opened to generosity within our community? Thank you for your commitment and passion for our church. Your contributions truly make a difference in advancing our mission and serving our community!
