HELP FOR THE HOMELESS HYGIENE DRIVE

You can participate in the 91.5 FM The Family’s Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive, an annual collection of new, unused personal hygiene and cleaning products that supports more than 130 crisis agencies across Wisconsin. All donated items and financial gifts stay right here in the local community, helping agencies provide essential supplies for the year. These are items that families often desperately need—but that programs like FoodShare (SNAP) and WIC do not cover. In Brown County, donations benefit agencies within the Brown County Homeless & Housing Coalition, helping them focus their funding on critical services like housing, counseling, education, and food assistance. Thank you for helping our neighbors with dignity and care. Look for donation boxes at Green Bay retail stores—especially Walgreens and Festival Foods—and help make a real difference in our community!

COLLABORATION IN THE NON-PROFIT ECOSYSTEM

If you volunteer, work, or serve in the non-profit space, this Together Green Bay workshop is for you—and aligns with Troy’s Activate series by helping move ideas into action. Join us Wednesday, March 5 at the STEM Innovation Center. Coffee & networking begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the program from 8:30–9:30 a.m. Hear from regional leaders representing UW–Madison Extension, Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, UW–Green Bay, Brown County United Way, Thrivent, and Together Green Bay as they share collaborative resources available to strengthen local non-profit organizations. Attendees will also participate in a exercise to explore collaboration opportunities between organizations, and a curated regional non-profit resource guide. Register here!

TASTE OF THE VILLAGES: CELEBRATE & SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILIES

One of the most joyful ways to serve our community is coming up — The Giving Tree’s annual Taste of the Villages & Auction. Enjoy delicious tastings from leading area restaurants and bid on creative baskets and experiences, all supporting local families in the Howard-Suamico School District. The Giving Tree does more than provide food — they remove barriers to education by ensuring students have what they need to focus and thrive in school.

You can explore their full 2025 Impact Report and see the many ways they support families here. See participating restaurants and get tickets here. Grab a friend and be part of the momentum.

This is What Community Looks like

Once again, attenders of Green Bay Community Church showed up in a tangible way for families in our community. During Meat the Pantry, you donated 488 pounds of frozen chicken and poultry, beef, pork, fish, and professionally processed venison to support families served by Howard-Suamico School District’s The Giving Tree Food Pantry. This kind of protein isn’t typically available through Feeding America, making your generosity especially meaningful. Your gifts help keep kids’ bellies full and provide nutritious meat families might not otherwise receive. In 2025, The Giving Tree served 447 families — an 11% increase. Thank you for living out our culture of loving and serving our city.

baptisms this easter!

Scripture teaches that individuals who put their trust in Christ for salvation should be baptized. Baptism signifies union with Jesus Christ, specifically in His death, burial and resurrection. It is our way of telling others we are not our own, that we have been bought with a price and that we have identified with Jesus Christ (Romans 6.1-14, Matthew 28.18-2). Your baptism is important to us and we are honored to lead you through it. Our next baptisms will take place Easter Sunday, April 5th at all services! There will not be impromptu baptisms for children 5th grade and under. If you have questions or have interest contact childrens@gbcc.me.

PRACTICING THE WAY: FASTING

What if we are missing out on one of Jesus' most essential practices? Fasting is going without food for a set amount of time to awaken our body and soul to our deep hunger and need for God. It's one of the most powerful-and neglected-of all of Jesus' practices. We would love for you to join the FASTING Practice. Learn more and sign up here. Starting Wednesday, March 4th at GBCC!

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY

Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-week class for everyone, no matter what your financial state, in which you learn practical steps to beat debt, take control of your money, build wealth, and give generously. Class members will meet every Wednesday, starting March 4, 6:00-7:30pm, in Room 201A at GBCC. You will watch the lesson together and engage in discussion around what they just learned. To learn more and sign up click here.

WE ARE HIRING

We’re excited to share that GBCC is growing—and we’re hiring! We currently have open positions and are looking for passionate, organized, and team-minded individuals to join our staff.

Positions available include:

  • Hospitality Director – This position is responsible for recruiting, training, leading, and developing the hospitality volunteer teams in their efforts to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere to everyone who enters the doors of GBCC.

If you—or someone you know—might be a great fit, we’d love to connect. Learn more about these roles or apply here.

CONNECT TO COMMUNITY

Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am in the Church Office Area. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.

Join us this Sunday, March 1 at 10am — RSVP HERE.

GENEROSITY REPORT

Giving is the intentional spiritual practice of sharing one's resources, time and talents with others, motivated by love and obedience to God. This practice recognizes that all we have comes from God and serves as an expression of faith and gratitude. It fosters generosity and selflessness, benefiting both the giver and the recipient while reflecting God's heart in caring for others.

As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of February 19th • Total giving was $28,117—about $10,300 below our target.

Would you join us in praying for hearts to be opened to generosity within our community? As the German priest and theologian Martin Luther once said, “I have held many things in my hand, and have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God’s hands that I still possess.” Thank you for your commitment and passion for our church!
