HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: vietnam STORIES
Join us this Sunday, May 17 from 12pm–1:30pm in the GBCC gym for a special Vietnam Mission Team Share Night. Our team recently returned from their second trip to Hanoi International Fellowship, where they connected with believers in the heart of the city and witnessed the ways God is moving across the globe. Come hear powerful stories, reflections, and moments that impacted the team deeply and continue to shape our church community here in Green Bay. Whether you’ve been praying for the team, are curious about missions, or simply want to be encouraged by what God is doing internationally, this is an afternoon you won’t want to miss!
THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE
This Sunday we continue a series titled “Jesus for the World I Know” and we will be in Matthew 5.43-48! Bring your bible, invite a friend, and join us at 8am or 10am! Don’t forget about our hot breakfast at 9am.

TODDLERS NEED YOU
Toddlers need YOU to be part of the Children's Team! Delight in the toddlers of GBCC on Sunday mornings when you play, craft, and share the Truth of God's Word each week with them. If you're interested in investing into the spiritual journey of our littles email Childrens@gbcc.me.
FREE POVERTY SIMULATION EXPERIENCE BY ST. JOHN’S MINISTRIES
Looking for a meaningful and engaging way to better understand our community and explore how you might make a difference? Together Green Bay invites our church family to join a free Poverty Simulation hosted by our community partner St. John's Ministries. This interactive, hands-on experience offers insight into the realities many local families face and can be a powerful first step for anyone interested in serving, volunteering, or getting more connected in the community. Saturday, May 16 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM Details and Reserve your spot here.
CONNECT TO COMMUNITY
Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect. Next Connect to Community is Sunday, June 7 in the Offices — Sign up here.
LAST LOVE YOUR CITY OF THE SEASON!
Our city matters—to us, to our families, and to the future we’re building together. We believe our community flourishes when we work side by side for the good of all. Love Your City Network is a monthly breakfast hosted by Together Green Bay, bringing together leaders from nonprofit, faith, education, and business spaces. Each gathering is designed to equip and encourage leaders with practical tools and shared language to make a meaningful impact in their workplaces and neighborhoods. This is our final gathering of the season until fall, and we’d love for you to join us.
We’ll gather on Thursday, May 21 from 7:30–9:00 AM at Fire & Fir Event Hall (near Lambeau Field) for a morning of breakfast, collaboration, and teaching. Get tickets here.
neighborhood gatherings - at home church this summer
This Memorial Day, we are doing something different. Instead of gathering under one roof, we’re asking our GBCC church family to be the church in their neighborhoods — hosting or attending a Neighborhood Gathering right where they live.
We’ll provide a teaching video to anchor your time together, but the real win is the conversations, connections, and relationships that happen with the people next door. This is not a day off — it’s one of the most strategic things we can do to become the kind of church that actually changes the city we love!
The first one of the summer is May 24th so mark your calendar and remember we will not meet at GBCC, rather in your own neighborhood!
MAY MEN’S RESTORE RETREAT
This fun-filled weekend is perfect whether you’ve been interested in fly tying, relaxing, brushing up on your current skills, or simply taking time to connect and restore your soul. Activities include fly tying, knot tying, a river walk, reading the water, entomology, fly casting, and dry fly fishing with a guide. It will truly be a weekend to remember. As a group, we will be taking the Restore bus to the retreat! Join us May 28-May 31 in Dunbar, WI. Learn more and sign up here.
Young Adults Summer Events
Our Young Adults Summer calendar is out! Be sure to invite a friend and save the dates for each event. This calendar is from May-August and we have some fun things planned. Share with a young adult you know! Check out all dates and events coming up here.
SPLASH CLASS: FOR KIDS BEFORE GETTING BAPTIZED
Is your child asking questions about what it means to follow Jesus or have they made the decision to follow Jesus, but haven't been baptized yet?
We’ll chat about the who, what, why of baptism, discuss the differences between salvation and baptism, and will answer questions children may have about what to expect.
Our goal is to help families prepare for baptism and this class is intentionally designed to facilitate conversation between children and parents. We also want to help make sure that children fully understand their decision to get baptized.
Sunday, May 31 from 11:15am-11:45am in the Cave. Sign up here!
From the Ring to the Redemption: Ethen Raunio’s Journey of Faith
In the world of professional wrestling, everything is about the "right now." It’s a world of bright lights, adrenaline, and what Ethen Raunio calls "living in the flesh"—a lifestyle where you are often the center of your own universe, and the needs of others rarely make the bill.
But if you ask Ethen today, he’ll tell you that the greatest "match" he ever participated in wasn’t in a ring in Green Bay; it was the struggle for his own soul. Today, Ethen's life looks a lot different. The man who once lived for himself is now finding his identity in the Trinity, trading a disregard for others for a heart on fire for the Gospel.
