HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: love your city
Our city matters—to us, to our families, and to the future we’re building together. We believe our community flourishes when we work side by side for the good of all. Love Your City Network is a monthly breakfast hosted by Together Green Bay, bringing together leaders from nonprofit, faith, education, and business spaces. Each gathering is designed to equip and encourage leaders with practical tools and shared language to make a meaningful impact in their workplaces and neighborhoods. This is our final gathering of the season until fall, and we’d love for you to join us.
We’ll gather on Thursday, May 21 from 7:30–9:00 AM at Fire & Fir Event Hall (near Lambeau Field) for a morning of breakfast, collaboration, and teaching. Get tickets here.
THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE
This Sunday we continue a series titled “Jesus for the World I Know”! Bring your bible, invite a friend, and join us at 8am or 10am! Don’t forget about our hot breakfast at 9am. We also are excited to celebrate Mother’s Day! We will have a special photo area if you would like to get your picture taken in the lobby.

TODDLERS NEED YOU
Toddlers need YOU to be part of the Children's Team! Delight in the toddlers of GBCC on Sunday mornings when you play, craft, and share the Truth of God's Word each week with them. If you're interested in investing into the spiritual journey of our littles email Childrens@gbcc.me.
CELEBRATING APRIL’S GIVING TREE IMPACT!
Last month, The Giving Tree Food Pantry served 168 families, distributed 7,166 pounds of food, and was powered by an incredible 290 volunteer hours! Every family served and every hour given reflects the heart of our community—thank you for continuing to show up and care for our neighbors in such meaningful ways!

This interactive, hands-on experience offers insight into the realities many local families face and can be a powerful first step for anyone interested in serving, volunteering, or getting more connected in the community. OFFICE + PLAY AREA CLOSED THIS MONDAY-TUESDAY
Due to our yearly staff retreat, our offices and play area will be closed Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12. We will be back open Wednesday at 9am. Thank you for understanding!
neighborhood gatherings - at home church this summer
This Memorial Day, we are doing something different. Instead of gathering under one roof, we’re asking our GBCC church family to be the church in their neighborhoods — hosting or attending a Neighborhood Gathering right where they live.
We’ll provide a teaching video to anchor your time together, but the real win is the conversations, connections, and relationships that happen with the people next door. This is not a day off — it’s one of the most strategic things we can do to become the kind of church that actually changes the city we love!
The first one of the summer is May 24th so mark your calendar and remember we will not meet at GBCC, rather in your own neighborhood!
MAY MEN’S RESTORE RETREAT
This fun-filled weekend is perfect whether you’ve been interested in fly tying, relaxing, brushing up on your current skills, or simply taking time to connect and restore your soul. Activities include fly tying, knot tying, a river walk, reading the water, entomology, fly casting, and dry fly fishing with a guide. It will truly be a weekend to remember. As a group, we will be taking the Restore bus to the retreat! Join us May 28-May 31 in Dunbar, WI. Learn more and sign up here.
Young Adults Summer Events
Our Young Adults Summer calendar is out! Be sure to invite a friend and save the dates for each event. This calendar is from May-August and we have some fun things planned. Share with a young adult you know! Check out all dates and events coming up here.

SPLASH CLASS: FOR KIDS BEFORE GETTING BAPTIZED
Is your child asking questions about what it means to follow Jesus or have they made the decision to follow Jesus, but haven't been baptized yet?
We’ll chat about the who, what, why of baptism, discuss the differences between salvation and baptism, and will answer questions children may have about what to expect.
Our goal is to help families prepare for baptism and this class is intentionally designed to facilitate conversation between children and parents. We also want to help make sure that children fully understand their decision to get baptized.
Sunday, May 31 from 11:15am-11:45am in the Cave. Sign up here!
CONNECT TO COMMUNITY
Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.
Next Connect to Community is Sunday, June 7 in the Offices — Sign up here.
WEEKLY GENEROSITY REPORT
Giving is the intentional spiritual practice of sharing one's resources, time and talents with others, motivated by love and obedience to God. This practice recognizes that all we have comes from God and serves as an expression of faith and gratitude. It fosters generosity and selflessness, benefiting both the giver and the recipient while reflecting God's heart in caring for others.
As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of April 30th • Total giving was $47,367
Would you join us in praying for hearts to be opened to generosity within our community? As the German priest and theologian Martin Luther once said, “I have held many things in my hand, and have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God’s hands that I still possess.” Thank you for your commitment and passion for our church!
