Weekly Newsletter — April 9, 2026
HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: CONNECT TO COMMUNITY THIS SUNDAY
Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am in the Church Office Area. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.
Due to Easter, we will have Connect to Community this Sunday, April 12 — Sign up here.
THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE
Join us this Sunday as we look at the book of Acts in Acts 1.6-11, asking the question of “Now What?” after Easter. Join us at our 8am and 10am services with breakfast at 9am! Don’t forget to bring your bibles and invite someone new.

NAVIGATE: DISCOVER YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFT
Navigate is a course designed to walk you through a biblical understanding of the spiritual gifts found in Scripture, using the framework Paul gives in Romans, Ephesians, and 1 Corinthians. Together, we’ll explore what these gifts are—and what they are not—while also providing real-time feedback to help you recognize where spiritual fruit is (and isn’t) showing up in your life. The goal of Navigate is to help you gain clarity on your unique, God-given design so you can confidently live it out. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to better identify your spiritual gift, understand how to use it effectively, and discover meaningful ways to get connected and serve within the church. Join us at GBCC for this one-day, condensed version of our 8-week group and take the next step in discovering your spiritual gift. Navigate will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 9am–4pm at GBCC in The Spring. Learn more and sign up here.
CARING FOR AGING PARENTS & SPOUSES
If you’re caring for an aging parent or spouse, you’re not alone. Join others walking a similar road for a relaxed breakfast conversation—share as much or as little as you’d like. Our time will remain informal and centered on connection. Led by Linda Markowski. During Sunday Breakfast Hour (9:10AM–9:50AM) in the Conference Room off the main lobby.
FMSC 5K BRAT BARN
Looking for a great way to support the Feed My Starving Children 5K run/walk that will be happening again in September? Volunteer as a grill master or a food server at our first Brat Barn of the season on Sunday, April 19! It will be held at the Suamico Festival Foods location and volunteer shift opening from 3pm-6pm. Sign up here!
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Easter changes everything—and this three-week experience is a simple place to begin the journey. Whether you’re curious, exploring, or just starting to follow Jesus, you’re invited to join us for three relaxed Wednesday evenings (April 22–May 6, 6:30–8:15pm) at Station 1 Brewing Co. in Suamico. Each night includes a light meal, a short video or talk, and open, honest small group conversation—no pressure and no prior knowledge needed. There’s no cost, and it’s especially designed for anyone who came to Easter and wants to explore what faith might mean for them. Come as you are—with questions, doubts, or just curiosity. RSVP HERE.
LOVE YOUR CITY BREAKFAST
Our city matters. It matters to us that we continue to grow and flourish for our friends and families to live well. We make our cities better by working together. LYC Network is a Together Green Bay hosted monthly breakfast gathering of community leaders from the non-profit, faith, education, and business sectors of our cities. Our purpose is to equip leaders with tools and language to transform their lives, workplace and communities and collaborate to see our cities flourish.
We meet Thursday, April 19 from 7:30am-9am. There will be time for breakfast, a collaboration exercise, and teaching.

WEEKLY GENEROSITY REPORT
Giving is an expression of our gratitude and love for God and others. When we share what we have, we participate in building His kingdom and blessing those around us. As Acts 20:35 says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." At GBCC we strive to live with open hands, reflecting God's heart of generosity in all we do.
As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of April 2nd • Total giving was $29,928--about $8,500 below our target
As the theologian and bishop Saint Basil of Caesarea once said, "When wealth is scattered in the manner in which our Lord directed, it naturally returns, but when it is gathered it naturally disperses. If you try to keep it, you will not have it: if you scatter it, you will not lose it." When we give, we help build a community rooted in love, kindness, and selflessness, reflecting the very nature of Christ! Thank you for your commitment and passion for reflecting the nature of Christ in our church!
