HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!

highlight of the week: splash class this sunday

Is your child asking questions about what it means to follow Jesus or have they made the decision to follow Jesus, but haven't been baptized yet?

We’ll chat about the who, what, why of baptism, discuss the differences between salvation and baptism, and will answer questions children may have about what to expect.

Our goal is to help families prepare for baptism and this class is intentionally designed to facilitate conversation between children and parents. We also want to help make sure that children fully understand their decision to get baptized.

THIS Sunday, May 31 from 11:15am-11:45am in the Cave. Sign up here!

THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE

We are back in person this week gathering at 8am and 10am with breakfast at 9am. We hope to see you there!

DON’T MISS FMSC REGISTRATION THIS SUMMER!

Our 14th year of partnering together to bring the Feed My Starving Children Green Bay MobilePack is underway — and this year’s goal is our biggest yet: over 800,000 meals packed, the largest goal in our region! This incredible effort happens because of a generous community and collaboration between 10 local churches working together behind the scenes to make the MobilePack possible. We may even top 4,000 volunteers this year, including many local students and school groups! The FMSC newsletter is the best way to stay up to date on volunteer registration, fundraising events, and opportunities happening across all participating churches. And don’t wait too long — Wednesday night packing sessions and many other popular times often fill within hours of registration opening. Stay connected and sign up here.

From the Trenches to the Kingdom: A Conversation with Jackson Ranck

Many of you see Jackson Ranck around the campus—he serves as our Facilities Lead and is currently diving deep into our Navigate course. But Jackson’s journey to this place of peace was paved with significant hardship.

After surviving childhood trauma and later the devastating loss of his brother to a drug overdose, Jackson found himself at a crossroads of homelessness and heartbreak. "I was in a spiritual darkness so heavy I could feel it physically," Jackson shares.

The turning point came through the community here at GBCC. Through Alpha and the kindness of coworkers, the "filter" of darkness began to lift. Jackson’s story culminated this past Good Friday—which also happened to be his birthday—when he was baptized.

"Coming out of that water, I felt a peace and calmness I’ve never had," he says. Jackson is now dedicated to using his gifts to help others realize they are "good enough" for God’s love, no matter how dark their past may feel.

neighborhood gathering july 5

On 4th of July weekend, we are doing another Neighborhood Gathering! Instead of gathering under one roof, we’re asking our GBCC church family to be the church in their neighborhoods — hosting or attending a Neighborhood Gathering right where they live. We will provide a teaching video to anchor your time together, but the real win is the conversations, connections, and relationships that happen with the people next door. We will also have conversation questions for after the message.

Learn more about neighborhood gatherings here. When you gather, snap a picture and share with us! You can tag us on Facebook or Instagram or send a picture to social@gbcc.me - we’d love to see how you gather!

Dreams, Calling and gls

Most people have ideas, dreams or even a calling they hope to pursue someday. But too often, these get pushed aside by the urgency of everyday life.

We're hosting the Global Leadership Summit on August 6-7 — and it’s designed to help you step out of survival mode and gain the clarity, vision and practical tools to move forward with purpose. Whether you're leading a team, building something meaningful, investing in others or preparing for your next season of influence, the Summit can be a catalyst to help you move from intention to action, no matter the space you are in.

As part of our GBCC, you receive a special Summit rate of $149 during Super Early Bird — $50 less than the public rate of $199. And if you’d like to invite someone who’s never attended before, you can bring them for half off with code FirstTimeFriend.

These offers are only available through June 19 — so get your tickets today!

CONNECT TO COMMUNITY

Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.

Next Connect to Community is Sunday, June 7 in the Offices — Sign up here.

WEEKLY GENEROSITY REPORT

Giving is an expression of our gratitude and love for God and others. When we share what we have, we participate in building His kingdom and blessing those around us. As Acts 20:35 says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." At GBCC we strive to live with open hands, reflecting God's heart of generosity in all we do. As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of May 21

  • Total giving was $31,371--about $7,100 below our target

As the theologian and bishop Saint Basil of Caesarea once said, "When wealth is scattered in the manner in which our Lord directed, it naturally returns, but when it is gathered it naturally disperses. If you try to keep it, you will not have it: if you scatter it, you will not lose it." When we give, we help build a community rooted in love, kindness, and selflessness, reflecting the very nature of Christ! Thank you for your commitment and passion for reflecting the nature of Christ in our church!
