HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!

highlight of the week: The Forge - Launching september 9

The Forge is the Wednesday-night rhythm where Green Bay Community Church forms disciples who lead — not as a title a few people hold, but as the ordinary calling of every follower of Jesus across every sphere of life. Over a monthly cycle we move through four areas of discipleship: the home, our relationships, our own souls before God, and the church itself.

The conviction underneath is simple: you cannot lead anyone further than you have been formed, so we shape the whole person for the whole of life. Click here for more information and calendar.

neighborhood gathering next weekend!

This Labor Day Weekend, we are doing another Neighborhood Gathering! Instead of gathering under one roof, we’re asking our GBCC church family to be the church in their neighborhoods — hosting or attending a Neighborhood Gathering right where they live. We will provide a teaching video to anchor your time together, but the real win is the conversations, connections, and relationships that happen with the people next door. We will also have conversation questions for after the message.

Learn more about neighborhood gatherings here. When you gather, snap a picture and share with us! You can tag us on Facebook or Instagram or send a picture to social@gbcc.me - we’d love to see how you gather!

Navigate: discover your spiritual gift

Looking to better understand how God uniquely designed you? Navigate is an 8-week group focused on discovering and developing your spiritual gifts through Scripture, teaching, discussion, and the Navigate workbook. Together, we’ll explore what spiritual gifts are, how they function within the Church, and how God may be calling you to serve.

Join us Wednesdays starting September 9 in Room 206 at GBCC.

Alpha: Curious about faith?

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to explore the Christian faith, ask questions, and share their point of view. Alpha is an 11-week experience designed to create open and honest conversations around life’s biggest questions. Each Wednesday night, we’ll explore a different topic related to faith in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Alpha is not a Bible study—it’s simply a space to discuss, listen, and explore together.

Our next Alpha group runs September 9–November 18 and meets Wednesdays from 6:30pm–8:15pm. Whether you’re new to faith, returning to church, or simply curious, Alpha is a great place to start. Free to attend - sign up here!

5K with a purpose!

Every day, thousands of children around the world die from hunger-related causes. That's why we run. Join us on Saturday, September 19 for the Green Bay MobilePack 5K Run/Walk and help support this year's Feed My Starving Children MobilePack. Every registration helps provide life-saving meals to children in need—with just $30 providing over 100 meals.

This October, our community will gather for the 14th annual MobilePack with a goal of funding and packing 650,000 meals. Last year, more than 3,300 volunteers packed over 676,000 meals in just four days! Whether you're running, walking, or cheering others on, your participation makes a difference. Register today and help bring hope—one meal at a time.

WEEKLY GENEROSITY REPORT

Giving is an expression of our gratitude and love for God and others. When we share what we have, we participate in building His kingdom and blessing those around us. As Acts 20:35 says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." At GBCC we strive to live with open hands, reflecting God's heart of generosity in all we do.
As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey. Each week we will inform you of where we stand.

For the week ending August 19:
• Total giving was $29,602 about $8,860 below our target
As the theologian and bishop Saint Basil of Caesarea once said, "When wealth is scattered in the manner in which our Lord directed, it naturally returns, but when it is gathered it naturally disperses. If you try to keep it, you will not have it: if you scatter it, you will not lose it." When we give, we help build a community rooted in love, kindness, and selflessness, reflecting the very nature of Christ! Thank you for your commitment and passion for reflecting the nature of Christ in our church!
